Stubborn. I bet people use that word around you a lot.

But why can't people see your reasoning? Because they're not rebels.

Turns out rebels are only a small fraction of the population - something like 1 in 10 people. (IKR, I would have thought it was more than that) Which means most people don't understand where we're coming from. When we say "no", they either think it's to spite them or we're trying to get attention. It couldn't be further from the truth!!!

A rebel doesn't do anything just because. We do things to prove a point.

So when you tell me "not to wear that on Periscope," I'm going to wear something even worse (and prove that it doesn't matter what I'm wearing). When you tell me there's no way I can get a celebrity to retweet me, believe you me, I will find a way (and prove that it's not only possible, but it's easy). And when you tell me to try the soup, I'll try everything else (and prove that I'm an individual human being with my own tastes, thanks).

You might think this kind of reasoning is twisted or that there's no reason at all. You might think we are twisted people, much like psychopaths and witches.

In fact, what we're thinking is:

You think you know what's best for me? Think again, dumbass.

Okay, maybe I'm not thinking that when my mum is telling me to wear something warm when it's winter outside, but when an online stranger is telling me my kind of marketing is childish and inefficient, I'll prove it's the most efficient thing in the damn world.

When rebels do something, it's to prove a point.

Now that I think back on my life, it's clear this kind of thinking has always guided me. It was there when I found a gazillion ways to travel around the world for free and shared them all on a blog so that all the people who said it couldn't be done could read it. It was there when I said no to signing an unfair petition and accepting the dire consequences (which proved that consequences don't mean a thing when the essence of your very humanity is being challenged and stretched). And it was there when I started my brand.

The whole point of which was to prove that marketing can be FUN!

Exactly one year after launching it, I have already broken some marketing and business myths and did it in pajama pants, too. I now have Google as my main source of traffic even though I don't care about SEO but about valuable content (people actually come to me and say they found me under "marketing blog"). I now have a brand that people love even though I'm no designer or branding expert, and guess what, I did the whole thing myself. Not to mention, I bootstrapped this baby from the very start. 

All of this is not to brag, but to show the world what's possible. That's the whole point! When you start pushing the boundaries, you see there are no boundaries.

Rebels don't do projects just for love, but experiment a lot and come back with answers. I don't enjoy telling people off, but I do enjoy showing my clients that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE, and all they have to do is SHOW UP and BE THEMSELVES.

Ignore the rigid experts, who insist that there's a "right way" to do things and that their way is the way. Don't listen to them!!! They don't know what's possible for you, and actually, whatever you believe is possible, really is. The only difference between people who think they could be The President one day and people who don't is that the latter will never be President. Maybe the former won't either, but they'll get a lot father than the other guys (and besides, Kid President is all that we need really).

Your way is out there, my rebellious friend, and you will find it.
